There’s a quiet luxury in the ritual of fresh bread dipped into golden olive oil - the aroma and the simplicity.
There’s a quiet luxury in the ritual of fresh bread dipped into golden olive oil – the aroma and the simplicity.
At Tara Iti Olive Oil, we believe the vessel should be as considered as the oil itself. That’s why we’ve partnered with celebrated New Zealand ceramicist Tony Sly to create a limited‑edition smoke‑glazed olive oil dipping bowls, each subtly marked with the Tara Iti signature.
This collaboration brings two crafts into conversation – oil and clay, terroir and touch. It’s an everyday ritual elevated, and a keepsake that feels at home on any table.

Tony’s work is known for its restrained elegance and timeless forms – pieces made to be used, loved, and gathered around the table. The smoke glaze chosen for this collaboration echoes our Mangawhai dunes: muted, coastal, and elemental. A low, generous profile invites a smooth pour. The glossy interior catches the light and amplifies the warm hue of the oil. The unglazed base grounds the piece in its clay origins, a tactile nod to craft and place.
Available in our shop
We’ve photographed the bowls alongside our new season’s bottles and packaging, so you can see the pairing in its natural habitat – simple styling, fresh bread, herbs, and coastal light.
The collaboration bowls will be available soon to purchase in our online shop, in limited quantities. Consider them a collectable companion to your Tara Iti Olive Oil.
How to serve
- Pour: A shallow pour lets aromas open without overwhelming the palate.
- Finish: Add a pinch of flaky salt, cracked pepper, or crushed rosemary for texture and lift.
- Pair: Warm, crusty bread; sliced ripe tomatoes; grilled fish; or a simple fennel salad.
- Savour: Let the bowl sit in natural light – the glaze and oil together tell a story of place.
